Humanistc Psychotherapy
In my work with clients I combine innate empathy and a capacity to listen deeply with intuition and insight which have been informed by study and training in Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology, Grief and Loss and meditation practice.
Licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist since 1978 (Lic # MFC 11611), I have taught and counseled individuals and groups in a variety of settings. As the Director of Shamli Hospice in Gualala, I developed their Bereavement Program, over the years trained and supervised volunteers and provided individual and group grief counseling.
Here’s a brief description of my current services:
Humanistic Psychotherapy In a supportive and confidential environment, together we collaborate to explore your inner and outer worlds. In a gradual, in depth yet dynamic process of discovery, obscuring patterns are revealed, uncovering your true nature, enabling you to express it more fully into the world.
Grief Counseling While loss and subsequent grief are a natural part of life, we need not suffer these times alone. Each of us can benefit from the compassion and understanding of a knowledgeable companion who can witness, support and “hold” us as we go through the sometimes confusing and painful process of mourning after a loss, to emerge once again into life.
Caregiver Support Caring for a loved one who is aging, ill or disabled? While care giving is often a rewarding and loving activity, it presents some unique challenges and can be exhausting and isolating. It’s easy to become consumed by all the tasks and lose perspective on life. At times like this, support and self care are essential to our own and our loved one’s health and well being.
